Q. Could you please confirm whether torque control is supported on this system and, if so, provide guidance on the required configuration, control method (e.g. analog input, CAN commands, software parameters), and any supporting documentation?

A.

The default clone files on our website all begin in "Standalone" Torque Mode (terminology defined below). Proceeding through the Pre-startup and Post-startup steps of the User Manual ( https://www.go-ev.com/downloads ) should provide a solid foundation to operate your system as you intend. If further modification is required upon completion of these steps, we have a request form (https://www.go-ev.com/downloads/OEMVersion.html) for OEM SmartView which unlocks configuration options that are blocked in the public DLR SmartView. NetGain and your Authorized Dealer can also assist with clone modification.

The controller runs with a "SmartView TAU" Software and Firmware combination, of which we offer two main types:

   1. Standalone (2BD or SYS) - Utilizes the Inverter's built in Controller to process all logic functions based on our Wiring Diagram's Analog and Digital Inputs/Outputs, along with parameters/conditions set in the 2BD software. A Pump or Traction GUI type may be selected. Within Traction mode, you can select between:

            1. Speed Mode - requests a percentage of maximum motor RPM based on throttle input. This is commonly used in marine and industrial vehicles.

            2. Torque Mode - requests a percentage of maximum motor torque based on throttle input. This is commonly used in on/off road vehicles.

Further information can be found here: http://go-ev.com/downloads/smartview_help.zip

   2. Generic Slave Mode (GSL) - The controller does not receive Digital or Analog I/O other than CANbus High/Low and motor signals. A 3rd party Vehicle Control Unit (VCU) sends a CAN message for Speed or Torque mode to the X1 inverter as a slave. Then the motor is controlled by torque or speed references and limits received via CAN.

Q. Can I use 2 inverters and 2 motors and a single throttle?

A. You may use Clone files for Master - Slave via CANBus. All Traction settings are configured in the Master Clone file. The Master sends a + or - torque request to the Slave via CANbus.

Or you may parallel the single throttle wiper and ground to both controllers. There may be a slight difference in the mV to each, that can be adjusted on the throttle map. Switching the control algorithm from Torque Mode to Speed Mode may also be beneficial for your application.
